SALEM, OR — Oregon Secretary of State Bev Clarno today announced that she has hired Tayleranne Gillespie to serve in the role of Communications Director for the Office of Secretary of State. Gillespie has worked in various roles in the Oregon State Capitol since 2013, most recently serving as Communications Director for the Oregon Senate Republican Caucus. She is a native Oregonian and is a graduate of Western Oregon University.
“I look forward to Tayleranne joining the team at the Secretary of State’s office, said Secretary Clarno. “She brings experience in communications, the legislative process and around policy issues important to Oregonians, both in rural and urban areas. She will serve my office and the people of Oregon well.”
Gillespie will join the office on April 24.
Gillespie will be taking over communications duties currently managed by Jon Heynen, who accepted an opportunity with the Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems.
“Jon has been invaluable and very supportive in helping me transition into my new role,” said Secretary Clarno. “He received an offer from OAHHS before I was in the office, he has a strong interest in health care, and I wish him all the best in his future endeavors. I’m sorry to see him go.”
Heynen’s last day is April 16.
